Super K is doing well today. Would love input from other working parents of children with unilateral cataracts. Super K had surgery at five weeks, and wears a silsoft lens in her APHAKIC eye. I was concerned with all the attention on her weak eye when we all wear glasses in the family. Turns out after a fourth opinion at Ferris State U, that she is far sighted in her strong eye and needs glasses for that. She is over corrected in her weak eye so she can see to run around and it is just horrid. She won’t patch and needs to wear glasses to see to learn to read. It can be so very stressful to work and live and discipline and school. But, I will manage. Always do. Somehow.
